Danielle Hubbard lives in Kelowna, BC, where she works as the CEO of the Okanagan Regional Library. Danielle’s poetry has appeared in The Malahat Review, Grain and Prairie Fire, among other places. When not writing or working, Danielle spends much of her time swimming, cycling, and exploring the Okanagan.
Danielle Hubbard is a Canadian poet and library CEO, based in Kelowna, BC. Her first full book of poetry, The ELECTROCUTIONIST, will be released by McGill-Queen’s University Press in summer 2026. Her poem “Swan dive” won The New Quarterly’s 2024 Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Contest. Danielle’s poetry has appeared in literary magazines across North America, including The Malahat Review, Grain, Geist, CV2, Room, Prairie Fire, descant, Queen’s Quarterly, The Nashwaak Review, filling Station, and Event.
Danielle Hubbard grew up on in Victoria, where she spent her homeschooled childhood climbing apple trees and swimming in small, goose-populated lakes. After galivanting across five provinces, Danielle now lives in Kelowna, BC, where she works as the CEO of the Okanagan Regional Library. She still spends as much time as possible lake-swimming, as well as hiking, cycling, and exploring BC’s interior. Danielle draws her inspiration from physical adventure, romance gone awry, and the idiosyncratic minutia of life.
